You seriously overestimate the community. I've personally never had more than 1 on any character at any time ever. And I'm not too poor to afford multiple elite armors or anything. I just pick the one armor that I think looks best on my character, and I don't see any point in getting something I think looks 2nd best...

After rethinking it, I really don't have much sympathy for people vain enough to want to swap out different armor sets. Like, why? They all have the same stats. And as someone said before, your storage alone has like, 80 tabs, and one armor set only takes up 5 of them. You just have to consolidate.

2x armor sets isn't only for aesthetic. Some stuff requires certain runes/insignas that you may not want in regular gameplay (aka: 55hp set, general sc or farm).
And bth, i don't see any drawback in introducing it, only a slight less need for additional panel.

Currently people make 2..5 sets of armor for a character, and that's it.
That's what most people do. No one with half a brain makes an obsidian set, deletes it, and then makes another obsidian set, since they can perfect-salvage the mods to modify it without losing it.
Why most people make just a few armor sets? Because there's no room for more.
Even if you get all storage tabs, it's literally impossible to get all armors in 10 characters.
Even with Heavy packs and mules, there's just no room for all of that.

Remove the need for storage, and you can get ALL armors with ALL characters. Not just prestige ones. ALL of them, including standalone parts like gloves, headgear and the dwarven armor parts.
You would no longer sell the remaining materials once all your character have 2..5 armor sets, you'll be able to keep making more armors.

So prices won't be reduced. On the contrary, prices may rise a little bit, since more armors would being made, since people won't just make the few they like the most and stop there, they could keep getting more and more armors.

And I never talked about time. I don't know why you mention time.
You never sayed it wasn't account wide and you mentiond the PvP panel wich is account wide.
And there are enough people that destroy armor and a year later make it again. Obsi would be less ofcourse since most people will be more caution about it. I have been playing over 6 years and my main monk had several armors that I remade. And a lot of people have done the same thing. And if srs can't hold all armor with mules then go to the in-game storage and buy more slots. And I think you are overestemating the mats you make in those years you play and what you need for armor.

To dispute some of the points I disagree with in this thread:

1) Some people use multiple armour sets for functionality (being able to easily swap for different runes), not just aesthetics.

2) If I could "unlock" armour sets per-character, I'd probably end up buying a lot more. As it is, I only have one set on each character (cept for 55hp sets on a few chars). I simple don't have room for more.

3) I have all the storage panes, plus a mule character. I hold onto dyes, perfect salvage kits, scrolls, cool minipets, weapons I'm not using or I circulate b/w characters, other stackables (zcoins, war supplies, diessa chalices, dcores, cons, etc), inscriptions/mods, items I want to sell to players, a few collection things, stacks of materials, etc, etc. Sure, an armour set is only 5 slots...but look at all the other things I'm holding as well!

4) After a year or so of using the "best looking armour", your taste may change, or you may just get tired of looking at the same armour. Hence a change of armour may be wanted.

Thumbs down

Hi folks,

have I understood this thread correctly when I'm saying that it is safe to delete a prestige armor once it has been added to the HOM?

I mean, after the armor has been deleted it will NOT vanish from the HOM, right?

It will not. You can even delete the character that added the armor, and it will remain unlocked for your account. But that's not the point of the thread.

The point of the thread is the ability to keep armor sets you acquire without having to use up storage space for them, like with hats and costumes.

Thanks for this information.

I know. Please excuse me for having asked a question that does not exactly match the thread theme.

Well the obvious way to prevent this would be to make the new armor unsalvageable.

Thats no reason to be against the idea.

Sometimes a change of look is desired. For example, as awesome as my male paragon's norn armor looks, I have been wishing for awhile to change things up for a bit and go with a dwarven leggings + elonian chest dyed red/silver. Is there anything "vain" about wanting to switch up your appearance from time to time? I certainly dont think so. The problem is that my storage and my character's equipment pack (plus half of his backpack) are already full. Items like weapon swaps, books for campaigns, and kits take up spots. I certainly see no reason why armor swaps should also take up spots.

Plus, this idea would function as a safety net for people who lose their elite armors to hacks. I can't imagine how devestated I would be if I lost my rit's obsidion armor (which took an entire summer to get) to a hacker.

EDIT: I didnt bother reading the date of the posts that I quoted. Apparently they are from june , and as such, I doubt the poster follows this thread anymore.

And you seem to seriously underestimate the community. I have 5 armor sets for my assassin, 3 of which are regularely used, 4 for my ranger, 5 for my ele, 2 for my monk, and 2 for my necro... And I know a lot of people that even have more...

Tbh, this would be a major convenience for me, since I usually only have 1 different type of armor set on my characters, usually the one I like the best. For example, I hate every female assassin armor, except for normal kurzick (and I think obby looks ok too, but I don't wanna look like every other freaking assassin, so screw that), so all my 5 sets are normal kurz dyed black, because it simply looks the best. My ranger has elite druid and 3 normal luxon etc...
But that doesn't mean I support it. If you're fed up with the storage space, put it on a storage charracter, or don't make it in the first place.. If you made it just for HoM, but you know you're not gonna use it later, just keep the armor you like the most and salvage the others, no way to hoard like that. That's such a human thought, but it's still wrong: "I can't throw this away, I might need it later." Which eventually leads to a house (or in this case storage booth) full of useless crap that you won't use anyway...

Also, this would be so cheap.. Buy an armor set once, be able to make an infinite amount of them later for (almost) nothing? Abuse says hi. And I'm not talking salvaging, cause unlike most people in this thread, I did read the OP well enough to see that he stated something like that... It's just, too easy.. If you want an armor set, you gotta make it, it makes no sense that some dude would make one out of thin air and just hand it to you... Even if you pay a small fee, I think the idea blows..

The ONLY way I think this would be positive would be for people that got hacked and lost everything.. That would make sense, since they can't help it, and it really, really sucks balls to get back on top of things already, without having to make every armorset again from scratch...

I'll probably be the only one, but /unsigned, either manage your storage decently or don't buy an armor you won't use...

EDIT: just realised that post was from June, didn't bother looking, since the above post was from today, so the original poster from this quote will probably have stopped caring about this a long time ago...
